Bloggers to Unite for Causes

Posted by: love4 on: April 25, 2009

Thousands of Bloggers have and will unite for many causes. Why do Bloggers Unite? Because we believe that if everyone came together eve n just for one day that we all could make a difference. By harnessing the blogosphere to make the world a better place. in their words, this is how it all came together.

How It All Began

Back in early 2007 Antony Berman was the CEO of BlogCatalog.com, a social network and blog directory who’s mission was to get the most amazing collection of bloggers out to the type of audience who loved and craved new blogs. With BlogCatalog designer Oscar Tijerina and his brother, programmer Daniel Tijerina, Berkman began working on an idea to use the large network of bloggers for a force of good. The idea was simple, the BlogCatalog team would pick a topic and ask bloggers to participate on a single day to spread the word about a particular cause or issue to help rase awareness. Within a week the BlogCatalog team began creating a landing page and organizing the very first Bloggers Unite Challenge.

On July 18th 2007 the Donor Awareness Campaign became the very first attempt at using the blogoshere to collectively spread the word about a topic for the good of mankind. Seven campaigns and a year and a half later bloggersunite.org was launched to help spread the word even further.

Today, BloggersUnite continues to branch out, giving any user the resources to create and manage a campaign of their own no matter how big or small. We believe that no cause should go un-noticed and we strive to help bloggers find new and exciting ways to use the blogosphere for good because together, we CAN make a difference.

Bloggers like you can make a difference. Be a Community Activist. Without people who would be willing to write a post, raise $ and awareness to be a part of a movement to simply make a difference in our world. If you look around, you can’t say that we don’t.

Not only does Blogger Unite Thank you, they encourage you to participate in making a difference like never before. Let’s change the world together.

Find an Event and make a difference, by going to their event page - sign-up for any event, even all of them if you would like. Whatever you do, commit to do something.

I got hugged by around 100 random strangers, and also to celebrate World Kindness Day I am going to be extra kind (and try to get everyone else to be) for an entire year.
