Matchmaking & Employee Motivation

Posted by: love4 on: January 26, 2009

This was posted by Reut – I thought I would carry it on here.

Not so long ago it was the common belief that arranged marriages are better. Parents or matchmaking “experts” were to determine who’s to love who.

Today people marry out of what they call “love” but divorcee rates are not just higher (my economy professor used to say that’s all as a result of the fact women needed to depend on men less :) ) divorce rates are obscenely high.

Matchmaking is all about “how it should be” and marriage of love is all about passion, right?

1. Which is better in your opinion (when it comes to marriage) and why?

2. If you look at the motivation of people to stay married in one structure vs. the motivation of people to stay married in the other—can you find similarities to the motivation of people to stay in an organization?

3. Which is a better motivator in business: “how it should be” or “passion”?

Many thanks,

Reut

Kindness Possibilities, I doubt it counts as kindness but I set aside my massive fear of people today and wore my shirt that says in massive letters "FREE HUGS AVAILABLE HERE" and got hugged by at least 30 strangers throughout the day. Terrifying.
