AIDS Day

Posted by: love4 on: December 1, 2009

Are we celebrating, are we contributing to make a difference on this day. Like many others I signed up to write about AIDS on my blog. the campaign message from Bloggers Unite

One of the things about AIDS is that it can happen to anyone – it’s not a black, white, brown disease. Now that It has been been around from several years it amazes me how un-compassionate people are with people who have aids. Did they put a sign on their forehead to say pick me? No.

Several years ago I volunteered at a treatment ctr, which was a house for terminally ill patients – mostly people with AIDS. It was a place where they could receive counseling, pray or other help that they may need or want to deal with the fact that they were considered to by dying. It was interesting to me, that some people, (mostly gay men) had a hard time accepting that they were diagnosed with this disease. I personally learned that it’s your attitude that will carry you forward so that you can begin to change your life; begin a change of the direction and actions of what you are or not doing.

My volunteer role was to help people who were ready to move on their life as they managed their new life. To help them work on a plan of action of what they wanted to change and create something different.

I worked with so many wonderful people. One guy, who realized he no longer wanted to live or be by himself, wanted a committed relationship. He said, the a challenge was to meet eligible gay men. He, went out and formed a social so that other gay men could meet new gay men. Sure he was not sure if it would work or not, he found a bar that would be willing to host socials on Tuesday night’s and started promoting these socials.

One of the things he wasn’t sure of is how to meet these guys – I suggested that he play the host, introduce the guys to other guys as soon he said, he became more comfortable playing this role and he found that more guys wanted to meet him. He did meet many and found someone, to move forward with.

Why write this story? Because it’s a simple story why that we all need to help each other when we are ready to accept the help. It’s about the Attitude we all can take when we have a set-back, a major illness or a major death, we all have them at one time or another, AIDS is no different.

What can you do to help?
~ Wear a red Ribbon to bring an awareness about AIDS
~ Ask your local organization of AIDS what you can do
~ Throw a Fundraiser give the $ raised to the local AIDS groups or person
~ Campaign with your local statesmen and senate to give more money to fund cures and help marginalized people

What’s your action that you are willing to take?

The theme for World AIDS Day 2009 is ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’. Global leaders have pledged to work towards universal access to HIV and AIDS treatment, prevention and care, recognising these as fundamental human rights. Valuable progress has been made in increasing access to HIV and AIDS services, yet greater commitment is needed around the world if the goal of universal access is to be achieved. Millions of people continue to be infected with HIV every year. In low- and middle-income countries, less than half of those in need of antiretroviral therapy are receiving it, and too many do not have access to adequate care services.3

The protection of human rights is fundamental to combating the global HIV and AIDS epidemic. Violations against human rights fuel the spread of HIV, putting marginalised groups, such as injecting drug users and sex workers, at a higher risk of HIV infection. By promoting individual human rights, new infections can be prevented and people who have HIV can live free from discrimination.

World AIDS Day provides an opportunity for all of us – individuals, communities and political leaders – to take action and ensure that human rights are protected and global targets for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care are met. HIV and AIDS projects in Africa can be viewed here.

Get involved! Your problems won’t be so large.

Thank you,

Kindness Possibilities

Posted by: love4 on: November 17, 2009

First of all, THANK YOU for all who participated in World Kindness Day on November 13 to write about it, to do kind deeds and just to bring more awareness about Kindness.

The One Blog -
It seems like more and more there are days for things that should be year round. Earth Day is one of them, almost every year everyone cuts down on their electric usage and how much they destroy the planet on that day. Imagine if we did that year round, maybe the planet wouldn’t be dying?

Another day that should be year round is World Kindness Day. I didn’t really do much for it though I suppose. I mean, I normally hold the door open for strangers, am nice to other drivers, and just usually kind to people I believe.

I doubt it counts as kindness but I set aside my massive fear of people today and wore my shirt that says in massive letters “FREE HUGS AVAILABLE HERE” and got hugged by at least 30 strangers throughout the day. Terrifying.

Lisa McLellan is a counsellor working in private practice. She is currently pursuing her life long dream of becoming a published author and is now in the process of submitting her manuscript “No One In Particular” to agents and publishers.

Seeing as I am part of http://www.bloggersunite.org and today is World Kindness Day, I am once again blogging about kindness rather than about the mind-bending, seemingly insurmountable, optimism crushing process of trying to get published as a first time author. That being said, if any agent or publisher happens to come upon this blog, feel free to hit me with your own random act of kindness by asking to see my mansucript. I’ll be more than happy to oblige you! Read more what Lisa wrote about on her blog.

Even the Phoenix Examiner got into the day. World Kindness Day: Perform a random act of kindness today and pass it on!

Let’s face it. Many people today are overworked, stressed out and downright tired. Rude service, road rage and angry gestures seem to occur far too often nowadays, you can read more about it here.

Thank You!
Remember Everyday is a Kind Day – It’s what sticks us together!

Pay It Forward

Today we picked flowers from the garden for my preschoolers’ teacher. She loved them and put them in the middle of the snack table for all the kids to enjoy. I hope it brightened their day.

Plus here is one way to be kind to your fellow parent.

Do You Feel Uprooted?

Posted by: love4 on: June 2, 2009

Do you feel uprooted like this tree? tree_of_biz

Robin and I were out for a morning walk and I saw this tree uprooted. I instantly liked it. It reminded me of life, and how sometimes I have felt like many of you uprooted and this particular tree fell over and was upside down in a creek.

In life or in marketing we may at some point in time feel uprooted or not sure what to do next. This is a good time to re-invent your life or your business by taking stock of your qualities, characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses. Write out a strategy which is an action plan to where you want to go. Get help if you don’t know how you can reach your destination. You can do some mind mapping, talk to other people, brain- storm or even better yet, join a Mastermind group. There are lots resources and people who are willing to help. All you have to do is to take the 1st step, by asking. Asking is probably the most difficult.

If it’s your life that you are working on, do the same because out of this is what you can put together for yourself, figure out your passions, name them and take classes that interest you. Soon you’ll move on beyond being that uprooted tree, grow new roots by one action at a time. Don’t forget to ask. Help is close by. Take the support, even if someone calls you once a week, or you meet this person/group for coffee once in a while or you get involved in your local community that you are passionate about.

Treat it as a new adventure, something to look forward to rather than treading your new re-invention. Life is actually fun, beautiful, and exciting. It’s your choice what you want to call it, or if you prefer to stay uprooted or firmly planted in the direction you want to go or be.

Have fun, be grateful and joyful for your new journey.

How can we make a difference?

Posted by: love4 on: June 24, 2009

Making a difference in people’s lives is our biggest challenge and yet it is what people want to do and do more of. I recently returned from a road trip of which I picked-up all my paperwork about Kindness and the challenges we have with it all. Questions that we need to ask ourselves like, How does kindness help others? Who are the people that use kindness as a tool or a way of being. Can Kindness be a market maker? The leader in shifting and changing the world?

We need to appreciate to understand, to value, to love and be compassionate towards each other. How can we experience the big “O.” No, I am not talking about orgasm, I am talking about relationships, about making the connection in making a difference in someone’s else’s life. The art of people includes: Respect, Appreciation, Kindness and Gratitude.

Abraham Lincoln said, “He had toughness, tenacity to move forward, stay engaged and press on.”

How can I or you to inspire others to reach their fullest potential by being leaders in kindness?

When I originally created Heart@Work as a relationship company who would provide consulting services to HR and other relationship based companies, we (my board of directors) came up with a few ideas to spread the word of how Kindness could change a business. Here are a few ideas you can use, as well use our vendors and other articles that will help you make a difference for someone.

  • Give people cupcakes on their birthday
  • Write articles on how Kindness has affected your life
  • Show compassion by giving a smile away, give a hug, listen, celebrate humanity, have empathy and be nice
  • Give a dinner party
  • Be an information hub, like I am here at Thought Leadership
  • Gather like-minded individuals together to facilitate a project
  • Do lunch and learns about how people can make a difference

Remember….
Kindness forges meaningful relationships and connects us all. Paying it forward is giving an act big or small to reach out to another person. It’s a gift that we give to each other. The hardest part for most people is to receive this gift. We need to be willing to receive help, and open our hearts. Brand yourself to be memorable to leave behind a heart warming experience.

Be a Kindness or Make a Difference Merchant!

In the next coming weeks, I’ll be posting people and companies who do good. Stay tuned..

Pay it Forward

Posted by: love4 on: July 2, 2009

I absolutely love this movie.

It is really simple. You want to know how you can make a difference? Find 3 people to help everyday. It’s always the small simple acts that make the BIG difference. Even though the movie suggests 3 big things to pay it forward and you feel you just can’t help in this way, start small and grow up your deeds into big ones.

On You Tube there are several different video’s people have recorded to get a movement going. Get the movie, watch it and get inspired again.

Remember, 3 kind acts a day will make a BIG difference.

Tell Your Story

Posted by: love4 on: July 18, 2009

I met this beautiful woman, Lisa at a networking event, and I really liked what she was doing to empower women. What she wants to do is put together a book of “Powerful Stories of Women.” These stories about the obstacles and challenges women have had in moving through whatever they wanted to create for themselves.

Lisa speaks from her own experience of learning from other women. “When she left behind all that was familiar and comfortable, it was scary. I had many obstacles to overcome. The stories and support of other women kept me going.”

Now. I want to inspire other women to believe in themselves and make the changes they are deeply drawn to make. I conceived this book as a way for women to share and support other women – with our stories.

You never know the impact your story will have on someone else. Your story may be the one that inspires, awes, cautions, or motivates another woman. By telling your story, you allow her to walk in your shoes. Without your story, she may never reach for that star or open that door to who she really is. Ready to share your story? Submit on Lisa’s website.
Lisa, said she has transcribers who will edit your story. Hopefully, she’ll have a way for you to submit your story via audio.

Happy Mind Food Bank Challenge

Posted by: love4 on: August 4, 2009

This is about the little boy or girl sitting at a table, hungry and waiting for mom and dad to put a bowl of food in front of them…and nothing happens. They can’t afford to eat. This is about the homeless person who shows up to a mission for a hot meal only to return to a box under a bridge when it’s done. This is about the single mom trying to make ends meet and feed her hungry family. This is about the dad who has lost his wife and is devastated, depressed and somehow finds himself in a place struggling to feed his family.

If our challenge helps one more person, child, family eat- it was WELL WORTH the effort.

Many may have thought that we forgot about this charitable social media project, the Facebook group and flickr groups have seemingly been ignored and it’s all over before it really got started…WRONG! Our work has been to inspire and organize and then inspire and organize some more. Starting with keeping Edmonton’s Food Bank in the loop, which has led to a discussion at the provincial level with the Alberta Food Bank Network Association, we hope to involve the national and international organizations shortly.

Achieving a “happy mind.”

The fragmented photo group approach wasn’t going to work. So we found some great and very giving people for the construction of a centralized website to house all the photos. This is being donated by Victor Rubba and his Crazed Coders of Edmonton. Victor assures us that the site which is to be located at www.happymind.ca will be fully operational on August 15th, 2009. We chose “happymind” by the way because it represents two things: One, the state of mind after donating. Two, D-DAY or donation day for this challenge will be in support of and coordination with the central message from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, who is scheduled to speak in Calgary, Alberta on October 1st, 2009.

We want to get his attention by scheduling this on September 30th, 2009.

SIDEBAR: I was invited to meet with and speak to the University of Calgary steering committee on the topic of social media at one of their meetings this summer. This great group of people responsible for inviting the Dalai Lama to speak inspired me to align this challenge with their efforts around actNOW and what we’re doing perfectly supports the message from the Dalai Lama of achieving a “happy mind.”

Trying to collect 1 million photographs representing 1 million donations from people around the world predominantly via social media is a daunting task and one I know we’re all up for. There have been many social media initiatives for the purposes of charity that have done very well in the past. Twestival comes to mind, I attended the Edmonton event and that model is brilliant and we’d love to inspire a similar effect in cities around the world. The 12 for 12K gang continues to do great work each and every day as well. The real challenge here is to get folks not only to donate food but then take a picture and upload it. We hope you’ll agree, that in this day and age of uber connected citizens, donating a picture is not too much to ask in order to achieve a “happymind.”

Our plan remains simple.

Go out to the universe and ask for your help. To support you, we’re working through Rotary International and still need to reach higher within that organization. Anyone know John Kenny President of Rotary International? By the way, Rotary has 1.2 million members and great communication channels within their organization, Rotarians are very special people and their help would be spectacular. We’re also approaching other organizations with considerable size such as the Lutheran Church of Canada and Edmonton’s World Trade Centre organization. We’ve had numerous discussions with Share Our Strength on their ability to help promote and support this initiative. They have agreed to promote this to their 40 thousand newsletter subscribers and we are very grateful for that. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if President Obama, Prime Minister Harper made a donation and posted a twitpic? They both have twitter accounts, so does Premier Stelmach for that matter. What about other world leaders? How about the United Nations? There are people out there with connections to get folks like this involved. Please reach out and touch them…

Does anyone know somebody at Feeding America or having anything to do with the Pound for Pound Challenge? Please contact me at walter[at]fusedlogic.com your help is greatly appreciated.

What about brands? How can your corporation benefit? Simple, own this event, put your brand behind it, your marketing message of inspiration. We want to share this experience with you, it’s about feeding the hungry for us and we know we cannot do it alone.
How can you help?

1.) Donate, take a picture and upload it to www.happymind.ca once it goes live or the facebook, flickr groups already in place today.

2.) Inspire everyone in your personal network to donate food and a picture at work, home, friends and family and the world at large via all means possible on or before September 30th, 2009.

3.) Be creative, persistent and inspirational in your communications regarding this world changing challenge, we won’t stop after September 30th and we must surpass the 1 million photos. Hold tweetup food drives in your city on September 30th and post the pictures. Write a song, make a video to inspire others and post it on Youtube, (our channel).

4.) Be an Ambassador! Get your local organizations like the food bank, Second Harvest, Rotary Club, chamber of commerce, church, mass media, politicians, schools etc involved. Send them the link to this blog post or others that explain the goal and what to do.

5.) Use Social Media: On Twitter (@fusedlogic) please use the hashtag #happymind, on your blogs please consider posting a “happymind” badge. Spread the word through Facebook, with well over 200 million people, we can do it folks, take minute to inspire others.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please tag your photo with “HAPPYMIND.”

What are you going to do in your local community? You can shop to end hunger at Sedona. PiesPlus, there is a local Tweet up in Sedona, AZ on Thursday.

Feeding the Hungry Children

Posted by: love4 on: August 12, 2009

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will be speaking in Calgary, AB Canada on Sep 30, 2009, bringing a message of peace, hope, and inspiration. One of his central messages is about achieving a happy mind. We at fusedlogic have taken this message to heart. In coordination with this speaking engagement, we are looking to inspire people from around the world to make a donation of food, money, and/or volunteering time to their local food bank organization.

Purpose:

The task is simple yet challenging. Generate 1 million photographs of 1 million donations in one year. This is meant to inspire others to do something positive. We hope to inspire you and your organization to join us in accomplishing this lofty goal.

How you can help:

All we ask is that you, and hopefully others within your organization, spread the word within your networks about this event on Sep 30, 2009 Each participating city will have one ambassador who will organize a central location for the donations and pictures to take place. There is currently a page on Facebook that keeps track of the ambassadors, cities, and participants. Each city/ambassador is responsible for their collective group. The group can be found at: fusedlogic.com. There is also a website where the pictures will be located at happymind.ca, which is up and running on August 15.

We hope you will feel inspired to take part in this challenge on Sept. 30, 2009 achieve in his holiness’ words “A happy mind.”

Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Kindest Regards,

Making a Difference – Top Post

Posted by: love4 on: September 2, 2009

Have you appreciated someone today?

On Twitter a follow Friday is done by most people, it’s a way to say Thanks for the follow. What I started to do was to say “I appreciate my new followers.” Someone, actually sent me a message to say, they like what I was doing and they are starting to do the same. I am saying hey wait a minute…., if this makes to feel better to appreciate someone then go ahead copy me.

I have been doing the “Prosperity Tribe” with Kristen & David Morelli – WOW are they making a difference in people’s lives. I have had many breakthroughs – releasing old Sabotage patterns, like worry, untrusting, asking for what I want, receiving or deserving….I am sure there are quite a bit more gunk to clean out of my body that limits me. It’s been really incredible for me. I believe you can still get in the Prosperity Tribe, Kristen & David were accepting new people who really were ready and willing to take a risk and work on themselves. To get outer prosperity you really do have to do the inner work. They are offering your 1st month at $47.00 to give it a Trial – WOW what a deal! Just go to: the Prosperity Tribe page and take a look for yourself.

What is a Thought Leader?

I HATE Indifference. In fact, it’s probably the ONLY thing -in the whole world that I hate. Even prejudice can be combated, but “Indifference” is nothingness and that is “Intolerable”. Deb is a Professional Speaker, Trainer and Social Marketing Strategist who believes that all things are BETTER with Chocolate!!! Her philosophies all evolve around Appreciation and the Famous Quote by Maya Angelou that “People don’t really care about what you know, until they know how much you really care”.

What is a Servant Leader?

Rather than being fearful of this new transition that all of us are moving through is this: We are being called to jump into a bigger role of helping each other not just for a profit, not just for fame, not just for our own selfish reasons – just because it is what is expected of us at this time. Use your creative talents, your ideas your intuition, your body, your mind and make a difference for someone else. No for the world. Every action that you take, will be a ripple like a drop of water in the pond – this ripple is carried forth into the bigger waters.

You see there are many ways each of us can make a difference, it just depends on what role or what risk you are willing to do. Courteous comments welcomed.

Make a Difference – Part 3

Here’s another way to make a difference get your “Kindness Diary.” It was designed for me, when I was doing the Kindness Conferences in 2000 to 2002. They are called Workplace Diaries, as the book would give each person in the workplace to record kind acts that they performed with their co-workers, it was past from one co-work to the next. With no expectation of return. It actually, helped to increased the communication and strengthened the team work. Just from one book.

You can buy this book for $14.00. Simply e-mail me: mari-lyn@esedona.net I only about about 24 copies left.

New Thought Leaders

Posted by: love4 on: September 22, 2009

Have you known or read about New Thought Leaders? I found this site today that references many New Thought Leaders of our time. Past, Present and who are the future? This is the page that caught my eye. A list of many people of whom I have studied with by reading their books, taking classes and the like.

Dr. Terrie Wurzbacher & Dr. Ann Kunath are behind Getting Unstuck who will help you overcome obstacles.

I believe there are many new thought leaders and I would venture to guess that we all are. The truth is how many of us are willing to be BOLD enough to step out and allow ourselves to be brilliant and bold?

This is something personally that I have or shall I say did have a problem with. It’s been easier for me to shine the light on other people, events and campaigns rather than going Solo. I have called this a cover up. A cover up because it has been easier for me to be in the supporting role than on the front lines or on stage. Where everyone is cheering, clapping for the performance, much of what stage actors do and get – Applause!

Being in the Prosperity Tribe with Kristin & David Morelli has been miraculous for me. To learn and to be willing to be Brilliant, BOLD and go Solo. My friend Patricia, did their 1st program 40 days and 40 nights and said that she got tons of good stuff out of it. (didn’t really share their techniques) So, when Kristin & David announced their second program, I felt called to sign-up. The basic principle is that Everything is Energy. If you go to their website, you can listen to their radio show and discover for yourself who they are and how they can help you.

Until next time..Oh Happy Day!

Happy Birthday!

It was mine yesterday and someone sent me this – So I am paying it forward to you. Happy Birthday to everyone who is celebrating!

Making a Difference – Gifts

Posted by: love4 on: October 4, 2009

How many gifts do you receive each day? Often when things come to us we either curse them, throw them away or we embrace them. We can simply say, “Thank you.”

A gal in the local community got real sick – couldn’t breathe, after a few weeks in the hospital said to a friend, with tears in her eyes “I never thought I would be envious of a senior in a walker.” As she, was leaving the hospital in a wheel chair. She, said, “how often we have the gift of breathing each day and we may or may not be thankful for it.” This is a pretty profound statement, most of us including me may not take the time to just say Thank You, that I am breathing today!

If we are lost, and don’t know what next to do with our life – do we throw up our arms and say “I give up?” Without realizing it, it may be the best thing. The gift is the surrendering and something that shows up for us and we discount it. It’s still a gift. The Gift is getting clearer on what you do want.

The gift of Faith – no matter what gets in the way, you move in faith in what you are doing – when we do this, Provence moves with us. There was this time when I was producing a “Kindness Conference.” I didn’t know anyone, and didn’t really know where to start. So, I just asked God – ok, put the people in front of me that I ought to talk to about it, AND I didn’t know how the $ was going to come to pay for it either. You know what, I just went with FAITH, and everything worked out .

Someone presents us with an opportunity, we turn it down because it doesn’t make enough money or it doesn’t pay you the fee you want. A friend and I are coordinating a Mastermind Live event, since it is our 1st year doing this, we are offering other bonuses in lieu of a speaking fee. a couple of People have said, no. That’s ok, because it has left an open space that we now have more than enough speakers who look at it as an opportunity to engage to a new audience.

My friend, who took a job many years ago for $5.00 an hour – her husband didn’t want her to do it – she said, well, it’s $5.00 more than what we got now. That job, turned into much more..the woman that owned the business asked my friend to take it over for the summer – and my friend made much more than $5.00 an hour.

Just because we get lots of gifts of opportunities, of money, of things we take for granted, doesn’t mean we have to accept them either. They are simply GIFTS.

What gifts have you gotten that you have chosen not to open?

Thanks a Million

Posted by: love4 on: October 8, 2009

I would like to have World Kindness – Wouldn’t it be great? My kindness challenge is that everyone commit to performing Random Acts of Kindness, and then blog about it. I challenge other Bloggers to to participate.

Yes, the time is now to start promoting the Bloggers Unite for one day. There are many events that Bloggers are coming together to promote, inspire people to take action locally and globally. Mine of course is World Kindness Day, November 13.

I was invited to attend a on-line chat with Walter Schwabe about his Thanks a Million.ca Brandon Mendelson and Brandon’s summer project at #AMHF. They have teamed up together – with momentum together, they will achieve more. Sedona Pies, was involved with Walter’s project here in Sedona, AZ – of which you can read about it at http://sedonapies.com. Red Rock TV, Megan is the coordinator of the local Tweet Up’s- the cause was the Food Bank, on September 15, 2009.

The challenge was to get more people to donate. How do we do this? Most Food Banks aren’t set-up to do Tweeting and they are very busy just coping with their own challenges, getting the food out to people and local agencies that they serve.

If you would like to get involved in making a difference in your own local community – put food bank bins in grocery stores, put them in your neighborhood and take pictures and post them on thanksamillion.ca

Join us on November 13, and blog about #1MPics. You can add your name at: http://www.bloggersunite.org/event/world-kindness-day and check out Walter’s site – Fused Logic. In the meantime, subscribe to my feeds and we’ll keep you posted.

The story behind ‘Help From Home‘ began a few years ago when I was doing a lot of volunteering activities from the comfort of my own home, like writing to sick children to make them smile, answering surveys from (mainly) psychological students and researchers, converting public domain books into e-books and raising money for charity for free by using click-to-donate sites etc, etc. I considered these as volunteering opportunities as I was spending my time helping somebody else, even though sometimes the recipient would not normally be considered to be the traditional type of person or organization one would think of as needing help.

Over time I realized I wanted to do more things that had the potential to benefit others and so I began looking for some more home based volunteering opportunities. The more I looked, the more I found, but the one over-riding feature I discovered about these opportunities was that for one reason or another they were just not featured on any of the volunteering portal websites like VolunteerMatch. Also, I realized that if you didn’t even know that such an opportunity existed (and there are some pretty obscure ones out there) there would be little chance in finding it. That’s when I realized that these type of opportunities really needed to be collated and put into one place, which I discovered hadn’t been done before.

I subsequently set up my website called ‘Help From Home‘ which I incidentally run on an altruistic basis, to feature Grassroot Initiatives that hopefully serve to inspire and encourage people to do things that help others, from the comfort of their own home. I figured that the type of opportunities that would appeal most to the person-in-the street would be the ones that would have minimal impact on their finances and time. Therefore the criteria for a volunteer opportunity that best represented this ethos would be ones which had to be easy to perform; involve no ongoing commitment (you could dip in and dip out whenever you wanted); cost nothing or very little to complete; take no more than 30 minutes to accomplish and if possible, be capable of actually being done whilst still dressed in your pyjamas!

Since December 2008, when ‘Help From Home’ went live, over 450 home based volunteering opportunities have been added to the site with literally hundreds more waiting in the wings to be vetted and potentially included on the website. I find it quite exciting to think that collectively, if people were able to volunteer their time in small amounts from their own home, the potential to make such a difference to the goals and aims of initiatives out there attempting to make this world a better place to live in, is huge.

I’m hoping that my website contributes in some small way to making this happen and I’d like to believe that with the opportunities listed on ‘Help From Home’, the world really can be changed – dressed just in your pyjamas!

Thank you Debra for letting me know about your initiative. It’s amazing how many opportunities are available out there that people can get involved with, even in their PJ’s.

Rational Code of Ethics” that fellow-Hubber Paraglider has proposed, “We are responsible first to each other and our future generations, then to all life on Earth.” Acting with kindness is recognising this responsibility, and doing something about it. http://hubpages.com/hub/Kindness-have-we-lost-the-knack

LEAVE A LITTLE BEHIND

When you are given a warm, inviting smile
Leave a little behind before you walk another mile

When you are given a friendly, encouraging lift up
Leave a little behind to fill up another’s cup

When are given an enthusiastic ‘you can do it, now go’!
Leave a little behind, knowing you reap what you sow

When are given gifts of kind words, action and praise
Leave a little behind to pass along hope
and spirits to raise

When you are given a helping, generous hand
Leave a little behind like footprints in the sand

Choose to make a difference in all that you do
Remember it’s simple…it’s all up to you

Happy World Kindness Day Everyone!

Kindness Possibilities, I doubt it counts as kindness but I set aside my massive fear of people today and wore my shirt that says in massive letters "FREE HUGS AVAILABLE HERE" and got hugged by at least 30 strangers throughout the day. Terrifying.
